Dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP) is an organic compound with the molecular formula C24H38O4, a transparent oily liquid, insoluble in water, soluble in general organic solvents [1]. Dioctyl terephthalate is an excellent main plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastics. Compared with the commonly used diisooctyl phthalate (DOP), it has the advantages of heat resistance, cold resistance, difficult to volatilize, resistance to extraction, softness and good electrical insulation properties, and shows excellent durability, resistance to soap and water and low temperature softness in the products.
